Happy to report that 1500 K Street has been re-certified by WELL Health-Safety for 2024. Informed by the WELL Building Standard, the WELL Health-Safety Rating helps buildings and organizations address the health, safety, and well-being of their most valuable asset—people. A visible indication of confidence and trust, the WELL Health-Safety seal communicates to everyone entering a space that evidence-based measures have been adopted and third-party verified.

1500 K – CulturalDC’s Spring Exhibit “Overboard”
CulturalDC's Spring exhibit "Overboard" is currently on display at 1500 K. The title is a nod to The Nike Shoe Spill of 1990—when tens of thousands of Nike sneakers spilled into the Pacific Ocean.
The exhibit’s artist, Andy Yoder, is a Washington-based creative who uses everyday objects and materials in unexpected ways. The mission of CulturalDC is to build sustainable communities that foster a wide range of programs supporting DMV artists. Since 1998, CulturalDC has transformed more than 300,000 square feet of artist space – and in its now third season, created the Mobile Arts Program, which challenges the limitations of traditional art spaces by bringing relevant, accessible art directly to local audiences.
Like CulturalDC, Grosvenor works to connect communities and local businesses. CulturalDC’s exhibit at 1500 K will help establish a creative base where tenants, local artists, and audiences can gather to discuss creative expression.
Taking notes from fashion trends, like the popular sneakerhead movement, “Overboard” displays Jordan 5's made out of reclaimed packaging of items ranging from Veuve Clicquot to Hermès. The shoes represent the collectiveness of nature and how an accident helped U.S. oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer discover data leading to an important study of the ocean’s currents. Combining this incident and the District’s sneakerhead collectors subculture, CulturalDC is bringing the impact of consumer culture on the planet’s environment to the forefront. Establishing universal connectivity is the main attraction in this exhibit, a conscious effort Grosvenor looks to lead.
Sustainability and environmental consciousness are of top priority at Grosvenor. Our
partnership with CulturalDC is a unique way of incorporating these values while supporting local
